ABOUT
Francesca is a handpoke tattoo artist from Portland, ME. She often utilizes referential material to create her flash, transforms it into computerized ASCII or hand-drawn dotwork, then applies it to the skin through handpoke tattooing. She takes inspiration from decorative materials including various textiles, needlepoint, filet crochet, lace, leather work, sculpture, and metal filigree. Francesca strives to create tattoo pieces that are specific to handpoke technique and not easily recreated by machine. Her work emphasizes the basic foundations of tattoo, that being a collection of dots each embedded by-hand with intention.
Francesca graduated from Bard college with a degree in Art History and Italian studies, where she also worked as a licensed EMT for 3 years. She is certified in bloodborne pathogens, and works out of a private home-studio in Portland.
